E1: EVALUATION OF PRODUCT SUCCSS AGAINST DESIGN BRIEF REQUIREMENTS

The brief for my Succulent Shop Corporate Identity required me to investigate, develop/plan ideas and create for each of my five graphics. The graphics that I created are as followed; a logo, a business card, packing including a take home bag and box, an instagram social media account and lastly a purchase postcard that is sent home with each purchase. I have achieved the requirements of my brief by using a rang of programmes to create visually pleasing designs, which would appeal to my target audience, males and females ages 15 – 30. I have reflected my theme through imagery as I have used a consistent colour palate and imagery which relate to my Succulent House Corporate Identity.

E2: EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PRODUCT REALISATiON PROCESS

When beginning the Corporate Identity I ensured that I completed extensive research before starting the development of my concepts, I began brainstorming ideas such as business names, colour schemes etc. for a Corporate Identity and ideas that were required for each graphic. I went on to research modern succulent and florist websites, which were going to assist with deciding on a theme to ensure that I was consistent throughout my five graphics. I analysed multiple materials that could be incorporated into my products such as tools in Illustrator and Photoshop, applications, fonts, templates, brushes and textures to create more complex graphics. To maintain continuity within my final graphics I attempted to keep the pastel colours such as blue, green and pink would appeal tp my target audiences; 15 – 30 year olds. Furthermore, through the development of my graphics I wanted to create a range of different designs in order to have a solid sample to chose from, although when it came down to deciding on the finals I chose the designs that flowed well with the colour palate and designs. As the logo is the face of my Corporate Identity I needed to reflect the businesses focus, which was Succulents. I did this by including succulents throughout the design and keeping to a harmonious colour theme in order to make my other graphics creative and appealing.

E3: REFLECTION ON MATERIALS, IDEAS, AND PROCEDURES, WITH SOPHISTICATED RECOMMENDATIONS

The Design Process was a long, time consuming and a complex process as each graphic was designed and completed to a high quality.  I began creating my logo in illustrator using the pen tool to create the succulents for my logo along with the Don’t Click Me font for the text. I faced a difficulty with this as the text was a DEMO and I couldn’t use capital letters, which forced me to make a design choice of sacrificing correct grammar to use lowercase throughout the text. When planning and producing the 5 other graphics, I designed the various possibilities using Illustrator and Photoshop. I also ensured that m designs for the development process were completely different to each other. This way I had for variation to choose from which meant that once I came to the refining stages I could merge designs together. The concept refinement stage was crucial in choosing the right graphic for my Corporate Identity and made the process easier. In this stage I ensured that my graphics were consistent with one another and contained the same colour schemes, fonts and other various features, which enhanced the continuity of my Corporate Identity. I placed all of my graphics and various screenshots to explain the amount of effort taken to produce each graphic onto a Wix.com site. Additionally, using primarily Adobe Illustrator instead of Photoshop would allow graphics to be created as vectors, and therefore be of a higher resolution and quality.

E4: ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF THE PRODUCTS OR SYSTEMS ON INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETY, AND/OR THE ENVIRONMENT

Whilst working through the Design Process to create my Corporate Identity, I have been positively impacted as an individual. I have now gained new skills and experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate and After Affects. This means I can correctly apply effects, create brushes, mask images and use the pen tool for a range of things. Through these new experiences I have gained an insight on a career path that I would like to follow as what I have learnt can help me in my future career that I would like to pursue. The use of the design process has allowed me to effectively develop each of my designs whilst reflecting on how they were created, excelling my skills in evaluating and critiquing my own work. I believe I have created a high quality online business store simulation through the development my own graphics and imagery for the entire Corporate Identity to a high standard.
